The Talent Unleashed Awards has, since their inaugural event last year (only for Australia and New Zealand), expanded to Central, East Asia and South East Asia for 2014.

60 will battle it out for a coveted spot in the top 9 where winners will get to spend five days at Richard Branson’s Entrepreneurship Centre in South Africa for schooling on entrepreneurship and business innovation.

The aim of ‘Unleashed’ is to discover and celebrate individuals who have impactful ideas that can potentially change the world. Does their work solve a business problem, generate improvement to company productivity or help a community in need?

Our own Yat Siu has been invited to join the stacked judging panel which includes the legendary Richard Branson and Steve Wozniak. See the full list of judges here.

The six categories are as follows:

  • Best Startup: a tech startup that drives technological innovation with a sound strategy.
  • Rising Star Award: honoring young tech professionals aged 25 or under.
  • Community Impact Award: using tech to solve a social problem, to add social value or transform an entire community.
  • Digital Content Award: created a revolutionary platform, app or piece of digital content
  • Inspirational Leadership Award: individual that drives tech innovation using leadership
  • People’s Choice Award: the public chooses 4 finalist across the 5 categories, one from each country
