HotelQuickly Closes Series A Funding of 9Million HKD


This month has witnessed a lot of exciting things in the Hong Kong startup community, today we are thrilled  to share another hot news with you. HotelQuickly, our local hero closes its series A round after raising USD 1.13M (HKD 9M ). Accordingly, the funds will be used for further expansion within the Asia-Pacific region and to accelerate product development which came from several angel investors, including Boon Hwee Koh, former Chairman of Singtel, Singapore Airlines and DBS Bank, and current board member of Singapore’s Temasek Holdings. Hong Kong Startup Snaptee Gets US$600K In Seed Funding


One of our Hong Kong startups, Snaptee is being featured on TechCrunch today!

“With just a few taps on the screen of your iOS device, Snaptee lets you turn your photos into stylish graphic t-shirts and sell them. Ten thousand designs have already been created by the app’s users since it went live in July and now the Hong Kong-based company’s founders have secured $600,000 in seed funding from a group of Hong Kong and Singapore investors, including Yat Siu of Outblaze Management Team and Animoca, Chris Lee of 6waves, Mikaal Abdulla from 8 Securities (a Techcrunch Disrupt Beijing finalist), Singapore-based angel investor Emanuel R. Breiter and Hong Kong-based investor Tytus Michalski of Fresco Capital.”

We had Wai-Lun Hong pitch at Start Club a few months ago and look at him now. This is the first big angel investment for 2013 and we know there are more coming. Congrats to Wai-Lun and to the group of Hong Kong angels that led this seed round.

#SUMHK March 12th – Simon Newstead: Impossible is Nothing (Getting Angel Funding in Hong Kong and Singapore)


You have a great product or idea, and you need some cash to make it happen. But where do you even start? I’ll share practical tips on what to do and what not to do when pitching Angels in HK/SG, and how to find them in the first place. 

Through it I’ll chat about my totally unsuccessful and then ultimately successful experience raising an angel round here. It should be a fun discussion.
